Urvi Majumdar is a comedian, writer, producer and actor based in Naarm. She has performed to sold-out crowds across the country at The Melbourne International, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane Comedy Festivals. Urvi has written regularly for Network 10's The Project and ABC TV's The Weekly with Charlie Pickering. You can see Urvi in ABC TV's critically acclaimed series Fisk as well as Guy Montgomery s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, Network 10's The Cheap Seats, SBS's Celebrity Letters & umbers and as a supporting lead character in both seasons of the Nine Network's Metro Sexual.

You can hear Urvi as a regular guest presenter on ABC radio, Triple J or Triple R where she's often on the Friday Funny Bugger segment or a Fakefaster. In 2023 Urvi opened for renowned international acts Cat Cohen (US) and Kaneez Surka (IND/US). Urvi has recently completed touring her second hour of stand up titled Burnt, which was the recipient of the Moosehead award by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, given to artists who show great potential.

Urvi's online series Urvi Went to an All Girls School was created as part of the highly competitive Screen Australia and ABC TV Freshblood initiative and is available to watch on YouTube now! Urvi has since been given the green light to turn the series into a pilot for the ABC.

Alongside her passion for stand up, Urvi is interested in writing for screen, acting and show running. She's been a part of Screen Australia funded projects: Swamped and Emu War as well as Screen Tasmania funded project: Flatearthers. Urvi was selected for and completed the Australian Writer's Guild's First Break Program in 2024.
